I just read of Sigrid’s passing, very sorry. As a teacher at Lakewood High
Sabina told me her mother had injured birds at home, one day I visited her
home, I found birds in the basement in the bathroom and throughout the home.
Later my class would donate money for an enclosure, wow how her dreams grew.
After an absence of 20 years I have returned to Colorado and will very much
miss an anticipated reunion. I will look forward to May 23.

I am so sad to hear of the passing of such a unique and magnificent lady. The world desperately needs more champions such as Sigrid. The birds must feel the loss as much as we do. On a positive note, I do believe Sigrid will continue her aspiring work as the guardian angel of all creatures that fly.

I, and more importantly, the raptors of Colorado will miss Sigrid. I really enjoyed working with her as part of the Division of Wildlife’s Injured Wildlife Transport Team.

It has always been such a comfort to know that Sigrid would be there to share the triumphs and the losses with understanding and compassion. She has been the only person in my life who truly understood why I am a rehabilitator. Thank-you for all the pearls of wisdom. I will miss you Sigrid more that words can say.

I can’t imagine the world without Sigrid. She was an amazing woman. My heart goes out to her family and friends and everyone at BOP. She will be greatly missed.

I only met Sigrid a few times, but it didn’t take long to realize that she was such a remarkable human being. Every time I spot a hawk, kestrel, owl or eagle, I always think of her. I too am looking forward to the Spring Memorial.
